one of God's waiting children as you browse through this website.
One Church, One Child (OCOC) is a program, which encourages
the religious community to help recruit adoptive parents for
children in out-of-home care. It is a concept that incorporates
the leadership of the religious community with the expertise
and resources of adoption agency officials into a partnership
to secure homes for Maryland's waiting children.

The focus of OCOC is to provide technical assistance and
support to local departments in recruiting adoptive families
from the religious community and in developing strategies
to retain adoptive families awaiting placement of a child.
OCOC additionally seeks to recruit adoptive families from
corporate and non-profit organizations and to develop corporate
partners to serve as sponsors for OCOC adoption activities.
In Maryland One Church, One Child:
- Provides information to local social services departments,
the religious community, and corporate and non-profit organizations
about the One Church, One Child Adoption program and data
regarding the number and availability of waiting children.
- Provides information and assistance to places of worship
and to community groups, on the process to pursue adoption.
- Offers support to prospective adoptive families.
One
Church, One Child is sponsored by the One Church, One Child
of Maryland, Inc. Board of Directors in cooperation with the
Social Services Administration of the Maryland Department
of Human Resources.
